Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs

A modern girl's comedic odyssey in a school filled with the descendants of Greek gods.
When Phoebe's mom returns from Greece with a new husband and moves them to an island in the Aegean, Phoebe's plans for her senior year and track season are ancient history. Now she must attend the uberexclusive academy, where admission depends on pedigree, namely, ancestry from Zeus, Hera, and other Greek gods. That's right, they're real, not myth, and their teen descendants are like the classical heroes-supersmart and superbeautiful with a few superpowers. And now they're on her track team! Armed only with her Nikes and the will to win, Phoebe races to find her place among the gods.

Oh. My. Gods. was a fun and hilarious story that I couldn't put down once I started. Phoebe's character was hilarious and I could relate to her cause my parents made me move from the place i've lived all my life, of course it wasn't half way around the world but still... Greek gods actually excisting would be awesome I love mythology and I loved the modern twist that Tera gave them.
The sequel Oh. My. Gods. II: Goddess Boot Camp comes out June 2009 and I can't wait to read it. I would definantly recommend this to all readers, it was a fun read that you won't regret.

I think it sounds great! I'm debating if I should spend $20 on it or wait three months for my library to get it after I request it from them. I'm really starting to think I will have to spend the $20. :)

Sounds good. It's not something I would pick up to read on my own so it's great reading a review of it :)

I've heard both good and bad about this one. My interest is still enough that I'll probably eventually read it!

I am surprised I haven't read this one yet. One of my favorite things about teaching 7th grade Language Arts is the unit on folklore and mythology. It would be a really cute tie-in.

I've heard some really mixed things about this one, so I'm not dying to read it. Though I might in the future.

I rarely read anything in the mythical section, but this book sounds good. I may read it sometime if I ever finish all the books I want to read...

I keep hearing mixed reviews about this one, but I really like the premise. I love mythological or fairy tales takes on things, so I'd still like to read it. Glad you enjoyed it!

I checked this book out from the library and read it all in one day. I LOVE this book and really want my own copy of it. I'm obsessed with books that put mythology in a modern setting, like the Percy Jackson series (<3) or this book.

Oh, I adored (and still do) Greek gods. I always kind of wished they were real. Somehow, they seemed so much more relatable than any other religion.
